Exactly one year ago Telekom Slovenije commercially launched the first fifth generation mobile network (5G) in Slovenia.
One year later the experience has shown that users are happy to take advantage of the benefits that 5G brings, especially higher data speeds, as mobile data traffic has additionally increased with 5G, and with the growing number of 5G-enabled devices on the market, the number of 5G users is also growing. Telekom Slovenije has the biggest 5G network in Slovenia, which currently provides 34% population coverage. To celebrate the first anniversary of 5G, Telekom Slovenije has significantly increased the data allowances of it “Naj” mobile plans, while keeping subscription fees unchanged.
The new generation of 5G mobile networks that supports even faster and more responsive mobile internet and an attractively priced promotion have further increased the trend of mobile data traffic growth, which has been present for some time now. “5G technology is supported on a good third of mobile phones in our range, across all price ranges, and after only one year more than 50 thousand of our users have activated 5G services, with the number growing every day. This is excellent, as it shows that 5G is used by most of those people who purchase a new mobile phone. With growing data rates, an excellent user experience in our network, and increasingly capable mobile phones, data needs of our users are also growing. That is why we decided to celebrate the first anniversary of our 5G launch by giving “Naj” subscription plans significant additional gigabytes, allowing them to continue communicating worry-free. And let’s not forget that our subscribers can also share the gigabytes with their family and friends,” emphasised Simon Slonjšak, Director of Business Development, B2C at Telekom Slovenije.
More gigabytes at the same price
Users have taken to the “Naj 5G” subscription plan, which since 1 October now includes 800 GB of data allowance, nearly 3-times more than before, when it stood at 300 GB.
Telekom Slovenije upgraded the “Naj A” subscription plan by increasing the data allowance 5-fold (the plan now includes 10 GB data), and has added unlimited calls and messaging towards all Slovenian networks and in the EU-rate countries.
The data allowance on the “Naj B” plan also went up by nearly 3-times, from 70 GB to 200 GB, while in the “Naj C” plan the data allowance increased by more than 3-times, to 500 GB (from 140 GB).
Telekom Slovenije has been providing users with the same data speeds, regardless of how many gigabytes from their data allowance they use up. It has also increased the discount from EUR 3 to EUR 5 for every subscriber who bundles their fixed and wireless plans.
Subscribers to mobile plans can use the 5G network free of charge. Subscribers with a supported mobile phone are automatically connected into the 5G network.
