On Thursday, 24 January Telekom Slovenije opened what it named the Blue House in Minicity Ljubljana, the institution where children up to the age of 12 can explore different professions and learn new things through didactic games.
Telekom Slovenije’s Blue House allows children to learn about basic telecommunications concepts, the possibilities offered by mobile telephone services, as well as about NEO, the latest platform for smart living, and important milestones in the development of audio and video. Telekom Slovenije’s My First Mobile Contract project, designed to raise awareness on responsible use of mobile devices among children and their parents, also has a nook in the Blue House.
“The world our children live in is completely different technologically from the world we grew up in. Today children grow up in step with technological development, and have no problem getting used to new things. They embrace new technological developments completely intuitively, so it is no surprise that they don’t find it unusual to flip channels by simply speaking to your TV, a feature introduced by NEO. It is even cooler that the children’s enthusiasm is also rubbed off on us, their parents, teaching us many new things,” said Simon Slonjšak, the head of the Advanced Living Segment at Telekom Slovenije, at the opening of the Blue House.
The Director of Minicity Ljubljana Miha Culiberg said on the occasion: “We are very happy that Telekom Slovenije has joined us, enriching our creative children’s city with telecommunications infrastructure, a building block of every city, large or small. We believe that Telekom Slovenije’s innovativeness, clearly exhibited in the NEO smart living platform, will also give an extensive and interesting insight into the world of telecommunications to the visitors of our little city.”
Telekom Slovenije launched the NEO platform for smart living in December, giving its users the chance to be among the first in the world to use Slovenian voice commands to manage content that they can watch on TV and other screens, as well as control smart home devices from one spot. Alongside numerous other features NEO also knows that not everything is suitable for a child’s eyes, and includes the Children’s Playground service for them. This is an area without worries, where parents or guardians can simply limit the child’s access only to age-appropriate content.
