Telekom Slovenije has reached a significant milestone – it has the trust of more than a million mobile service users. The continuous growth in the number of users reaffirms that Telekom Slovenije addresses the needs of users, both residential and business customers, with clearly focused sales and development activities and best services on a high-performance network.
Connectivity, adaptability and reliability remain the foundation of the range of services, which today connect one million users across Slovenia. The figures reveal interesting stories: last year's record holder made calls lasting a total of almost 13 days in a single month, while another user sent more than 29,000 SMS messages. In March, Telekom Slovenije users already transferred an average of more than 15 GB per month.
"In 2024, we exceeded our objectives and significantly improved Telekom Slovenije's business results," highlights Boštjan Škufca Zaveršek, Vice President of the Management Board of Telekom Slovenije. "The foundation of our success lies in investments in research and development, and the superior experience on our high-performance network. In just one year, we doubled our 5G capacities and increased 4G by 35 percent, which ensures reliability even during peak loads, such as this year's Planica Finals. With a tailored offering for each segment and our expert support, we are building trust, and users rate our network as the best in Slovenia. Reaching one million confirms that our focus on users, sales excellence and development investments are the right path."
Providing reliable, secure and uninterrupted communication for more than one million mobile users – from calls and messages to the transfer of huge amounts of data – requires an exceptionally powerful and technologically advanced infrastructure. In recent years, there has been a constant increase mobile data transfer. In March 2025, users on Telekom Slovenije's mobile network transferred up to 35 percent more data than in the same period last year. At Telekom Slovenije, expansions and upgrades of 5G network capacities have doubled in the past year, and the capacity of the 4G network has increased by 35 percent. According to internal measurements, even with constant growth in data traffic, the average speeds achieved on the network are now up to twice as high as in the same period last year. At the same time, more than one million Telekom Slovenije mobile users on average transfer more than 15 GB per month. There is an increasing number of users who can measure the transferred gigabytes in hundreds or even thousands per month. All this also proves that Telekom Slovenije's state-of-the-art mobile network is not only fast and responsive but also offers exceptional capacities. Telekom Slovenije draws attention to the responsible use of technology as part of the "Enjoy Intelligently", initiative, as online fraud is also becoming more sophisticated with increasingly advanced technologies. Consequently, the company points out that we must all be aware of our responsibility online at every turn and behave as cautiously as possible, and to use screens in moderation.
The 5G network now provides more than 83 percent population coverage, and by the end of 2025, Telekom Slovenije plans for as much as 99 percent 5G population coverage. In the first months of this year, the 5G network was upgraded with additional base stations at more than 100 locations across Slovenia, and at the same time, the company is also expanding access to the most modern gigabit fibre optics network, which is already available to nearly half a million households. With the ability to respond to the most diverse user needs, Telekom Slovenije remains the cornerstone of technological infrastructure and a driving force of digital progress in Slovenia.
