Company system security checks most often uncover outdated software without the required updates, equipment without security support, open ports on firewalls that provide access to a company’s IT system, and similar shortcomings. Another exceptionally frequent issue is unsuitable password policy and using default passwords, both in private use and in business environments.
Cyberattacks are becoming increasingly diverse and their complexity is growing. Email attacks are a daily threat for both individuals and businesses. Most often this is attempted fraud by an external attacker (a hacker), who tries to trick an employee at a company to obtain confidential data from them (e.g., passwords).
“That is why at Telekom Slovenije we launched this new solution, named simply Advanced email protection, which provides exceptional detection and prevention of advanced persistent threat (APT), phishing, malware, unsolicited email, etc. It is suitable for companies of all sizes, regardless of the number of email accounts they have,” explains Rok Peršak, the head of Telekom Slovenije’s Cyber Security Operations Centre, which was founded five years ago and is among the most state-of-the-art such centres in the region.
