Starting on 1 March, Telekom Slovenia has doubled the speeds across its mobile subscription plans at no extra cost. In the most popular plans – the Naj C plan and the SUPR plan for young people – users can take advantage of high-speed internet with gigabit speeds (up to 1 Gbps downlink and 200 Mbps uplink). Along with gigabit speeds, young people will also be glad to find that the SUPR plan now leads among all youth-focused subscription plans on the Slovenian market by including the most data allowance in EU-rate countries (22 GB).
At Telekom Slovenije, where the needs of the users of communication services, the quality of the services, an excellent price-performance ratio, and the best user experience are prioritized, subscribers now get to enjoy gigabit internet speeds in both mobile and fixed networks.
"We are pleased with the constant increase in the number of users over the past year, many of whom return to our network because of its reliability, security, and quality. In developing services, we are primarily focused on the needs of users in the digital world and on offering them more – higher or even gigabit speeds, more state-of-the-art services, and much higher data allowance, both in our network and while roaming in the EU. By doubling the speeds, we further reinforce our promise to guarantee satisfaction," says Katja Šajnovič, Operations Development Director at Telekom Slovenije, who adds that young people will certainly be especially thrilled by this gigastic news.
Matjaž Beričič, Network and Infrastructure Director at Telekom Slovenije, points out that “data traffic over the 4G and 5G networks is constantly growing, with about 25% of users already connecting through 5G devices, and all of them expect high speeds, and the best and reliable network coverage. Our mobile network is known among users for its impressive user experience, which would not be possible without careful planning and investment in network and infrastructure development. We are in a decade of transition to gigabit mobile and fibre optics technologies, and in the future, uplink data transfer speeds will also be increasing significantly. This is one of the ways in which we are actively bringing to reality the vision of a gigabit digital Slovenia by 2030."
Telekom Slovenije manages the largest and most modern network in the country; it already covers more than 60% of the population with 5G, and more than 97% with LTE/4G. By 2025, it will provide 99% population coverage with 5G, in line with development needs, demands, and plans. In the fibre optics network, Telekom Slovenije currently supports speeds up to 2 Gbps, with upgrades underway installing XGS-PON technology, which supports speeds up to 10 Gbps. Telekom Slovenije already provides the option to connect to its fibre optics network to more than 460,000 households.
The most popular mobile subscription plans, the Naj C and SUPR, offer speeds up to one gigabit per second, while the speeds available to subscribers of the Naj A and Naj B subscription plans have been doubled (up to 300/100 Mbps). All mobile subscription plans provide unlimited data allowance in Telekom Slovenije’s network (except for Naj A) and substantial data allowances in EU-rate countries.
The Naj A, Naj B, Naj C, and SUPR mobile subscription plans are available at a uniform price of EUR 13.99 per month during the promotional period from 1 March to 31 May, and with the Connect and Save benefit, the Naj plans are available from just EUR 8.99 per month.
