Between 16 and 18 September, Telekom Slovenije held its second annual student TRIP, the Telekom Development and Educational Programme. This year's programme focused on fifth-generation mobile technology (5G) and new technologies.
The TRIP is a free educational programme, focused on students interested in modern telecommunications, the development of advanced technology, and the operation of state-of-the-art technologies in practice. This year's event attracted 27 students attending various programmes at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, the School Centre for Post, Economics and Telecommunications, the Higher Vocational College – Computer Science programme, the Faculty of Computer and Information Science, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Informatics, and the Faculty of Information Studies.
TRIP provides young people with a unique technological experience and cooperation with leading experts at the same time. With this programme, Telekom Slovenije gives young people with an in-depth insight into the operations of the leading Slovenian technology company in the region, while the opportunity to talk to experts from various fields offers them additional guidance in deciding on their future career path.
The TRIP programme is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive overview of the current trends and developments in telecommunications. This year's TRIP programme introduced participants to the exciting environment and the possibilities offered by 5G technologies, including public and private networks, the core network and the Internet of Things. They learned about practical examples of 5G use, the impact of 5G on digital transformation, and the role of 5G in the development of smart cities through interactive workshops and lectures at Telekom Slovenije's innovative demonstration laboratory INO.LAB. In addition to technical knowledge, the participants also got a chance to strengthen their soft skills, which are key to success in the modern business world.
"At Telekom Slovenije, we firmly believe that young people are the driving force behind progress and the key to a successful future. We strive to open the door to the world of state-of-the-art technologies for them and offer them the opportunity to actively participate in the development of the digital society. The TRIP programme is an excellent opportunity for students to get to know our work, our experts and the exciting challenges we face every day. This allows them to experience something new, gain insight into what modern technologies enable, and above all, provides them with experience that helps them more easily shape their further career decisions," emphasised Vesna Prodnik, Member of the Management Board of Telekom Slovenije.
Telekom Slovenije supports young people on their path to a successful career with numerous programmes aimed at secondary school students and university students, such as student work, practical training and scholarships. The TRIP programme emphasises the company’s commitment to educating young people about the latest technologies while offering them the opportunity to connect with experienced professionals and explore potential career paths at Telekom Slovenije.
