Slovenians use more than 200,000 voice commands per day to select their TV content

NEO Smartbox now also doubles as a WiFi hotspot, its new voice recognition for Slovenian and English with a speech volume display brings even more effective ways for finding content, while family user profiles introduce a more personalized user experience of content recommendation. The new NEO remote allows you to control all TV features, and supports simpler management of smart home devices.

​NEO was developed by Telekom Slovenije's experts, and can be easily and frequently adapted to the needs of its users. After Telekom Slovenije recently launched a recorder, updated the YouTube app, and introduced several improvements for even faster performance, it has now added numerous new features. These will become available after users confirm the pop-up window while watching TV content or when they use the voice command "Reboot".

NEO Smartbox now also doubles as a WiFi hotspot, allowing users to connect into their home wireless network. This also allows them to extend the range of their WiFi network when their modem is located in a different room than the NEO Smartbox.

To make managing and watching TV content even easier, NEO now supports up to 5 user profiles, improving content recommendation based on users' viewing habits. Every user can edit the list of TV channels they want to watch, add parental controls, if needed, as well as a code request for exiting the Children's Park section. Switching between profiles is simple, and can be done using voice commands (for example: "Maja's profile").

With the new simple voice command "From the beginning", users can easily jump to the start of the programme while watching live TV, while the new graphic display of voice commands and content search provides users a warning when their voice is too loud or not loud enough, and the user will also be alerted whether they need to bring the remote closer to their face or move it away.

Many users will also be happy that the new NEO remote comes with IR functionality. It now also supports management of basic TV commands, such as turning it on or off and adjusting volume, meaning that users can control their TV set and NEO Smartbox with just one remote.

To make managing a smart home even simpler, Telekom Slovenije upgraded the internal and external cameras feature, which supports the capturing and storing of the recordings. All the recordings are stored in the NEO Library (under Files). Users can make their home even more safe by automating events in scenarios using the NEO mobile app (for example: when the door sensor is triggered, a light is switched on, and the camera makes a video recording). Users can review and manage these scenarios on the NEO Smartbox in the Smart Home section.

Video tips and instructions for using the NEO smart platform have been added in the "Help" section. A survey on satisfaction has been added with the goal of improving the user experience, and users can submit their responses with voice commands.

With the NEO platform Telekom Slovenije gave its users the chance to be among the first in the world to use Slovenian voice commands to manage content that they can watch on TV and other screens, as well as control smart home devices from a single location. Voice commands make it possible to sift through content quickly and easily, and users can search by channel name, film or show title, genre they want to watch, favourite actor, and similar options. Time shift is available for 7 days, and users can also record content when it is available live or within the 7-day time-shift window, and then watch the recording within 30 days from when it was broadcast live on television. NEO works across all screens, allowing users to begin watching a film or a show on the TV, and then continue on their tablet, mobile phone or computer, right where they left off.
