Slovenian cybersecurity experts building stronger bonds with the global cyber community

After the Director of the Government Information Security Office of the Republic of Slovenia Uroš Svete, PhD, signed a Memorandum on cooperation in cybersecurity with the Director of the Israel National Cyber Directorate in 2021, cybersecurity experts from Telekom Slovenije and CREAplus recently met with Israeli cybersecurity developers and the representatives of one of the most advanced and strongest cybersecurity communities in the world.

​In Israel representatives from both companies also exchanged know-how and experience with the representatives from Cyber7, an organisation that promotes and connects the Israeli cybersecurity industry with educational institutions. The meeting was organised by the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Israel, headed by Andreja Purkart Martinez.

“This visit is a good example of building connections between Slovenian and Israeli cybersecurity companies and bringing the memorandum we signed into practice. Ensuring cybersecurity is growing in significance and state-of-the-art technological solutions and international best practices can be highly useful in that,” emphasised Uroš Svete, PhD, the Director of the Government Information Security Office of the Republic of Slovenia.

Telekom Slovenije continues to monitor internationally established solutions and best practices in cybersecurity. “Cybersecurity applies locally and responds to the threats that are global and can originate anywhere. That is why we collaborate with various organisations across the globe. In Israel we have seen the development potential that cybersecurity brings, and we want to bring at least a part of this know-how home, along with the products themselves. Telekom Slovenije is constantly growing the security both of our services, as well as the services we provide to our subscribers, with our full cyber response team at full alert. All of our activities are focused on ensuring the highest level of security, reliability and privacy,” emphasised Metod Platiše, cybersecurity expert at Telekom Slovenije.

Telekom Slovenije has a state-of-the-art Cyber Security Operations Centre, the best in the country. Its experts constantly closely monitor security incidents, while the information on potential threats that they receive from different sources is analysed and assessed. As soon as any derogation is detected that may represent a security risk, they take action immediately, as the most important actions when responding to an attack are a fast response, stopping the attack, analysis of the activity, restoring operations as soon as possible, and adopting additional security measures, if needed.
