Enjoy Intelligently – The new platform with tips and advice for sensible, responsible and safe use of technology

All activities have been combined into the platform, and the content can be found at telekom.si/smart. The primary purpose of the Enjoy Intelligently platform is to raise awareness about the intelligent, that is, balanced, safe, and responsible use of digital technologies. In this way, Telekom Slovenije encourages open conversations between parents or guardians and children and adolescents; the recommendations are in line with the guidelines of Slovenian paediatricians for screen use. Experts emphasize that it is exceptionally important for both adults and children to be role models to one another, to continuously educate themselves regarding online safety, and to discuss this topic, to set clear rules for device use, and to employ web filters.

Parents or guardians can find the following tools on the Telekom Slovenije website:

1. The first contract for the first mobile phone, which allows parents or guardians to define family and general rules in advance when the
2. child first starts using a mobile phone independently. By signing the contract, both parties commit to maintaining the agreed rules.
   The family screen use plan, which is suitable for when the entire family already uses the internet. It can help family members more easily agree on rules, activities, and time frames for using the internet and screens.
3. The 6-step parent's guide, which summarizes recommendations that encourage parents and children to use digital technologies intelligently.
4. The Memory Game is a digital version of the popular game that also raises awareness about smart technology use. Each card includes a message related to safe use of the internet and devices, allowing parents to discuss the topic represented by the card with their children during the game. 

"In preparing the activities, we focused on creating as concrete and useful content as possible, and we will be adding more in time. With the aim of helping to create a better digital world, we developed tools based on user experiences, expert recommendations, and not least, what we have experienced ourselves as parents. We have been collaborating with the Logout organization in these projects since 2016," emphasized Petra Pust, project manager of Enjoy Intelligently at Telekom Slovenije.

"It’s important that we talk about what happens to us in the digital world. This way, young people can learn from adults and, of course, vice versa – adults can learn a lot from the young ones. This allows us to mutually develop into critical users of digital technologies and to be able to recognise and react even in situations that can be unusual or uncomfortable," said mag. Anja Kostevc from Telekom Slovenije, who participates as a lecturer in the Enjoy Intelligently project.

We promote responsible use, paying special attention to vulnerable groups, especially children and adolescents. With this project we provide some assistance to parents to better guide them in this respect. The recommendations are for all generations of users, from the youngest to the seniors, as we work towards always getting better," added Teodor Prosen, Head of Corporate Sustainability and Business Excellence at Telekom Slovenije.

For a safer and more secure digital environment, Telekom Slovenije recommends the useful service “Varen splet" (https://ts.si/vklopi-varen-splet), which protects mobile devices and home networks from online threats, and also allows parents or guardians to block content that is inappropriate for children.
