Telekom Slovenije is introducing comprehensive breakthroughs in content and technology.
Users of the NEO platform can enjoy BBC Player’s exclusive video library, blockbuster films and full coverage of the Winter Olympic Games, while fans travelling to Italy who subscribe to the Naj mobile subscription plans are also provided with free data roaming. On the technological front, Telekom Slovenije achieved, in cooperation with the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, a record-breaking 5G uplink speed of 2 Gbps on the 26 GHz frequency band. By upgrading the core part of its network, it has also delivered the cutting-edge 5G Standalone technology and an impressive 99% population coverage. The new developments are rounded off by sovereign cloud services and virtual data centres which, with infrastructure located in Slovenia, ensure full digital sovereignty and data security.
February on NEO: From British exclusives and blockbuster hits to Olympic excitement
Telekom Slovenije is boosting its offer with BBC Player’s exclusive video library, bringing the very best of British TV production to Slovenia – from premium drama series and documentaries to distinctive British humour. The video library is already included in the NEO C subscription plan and, as part of a promotion running until 30 April 2026, is also available to subscribers of the NEO A and NEO B subscription plans. The height of the awards season is reflected in an outstanding DKino video library line-up. Audiences will be moved to tears by the drama Hamnet, which unveils the story of Shakespeare’s family, and the romantic tale Dracula: Eternal Love, while the action spectacle The Running Man, starring Glen Powell, presents a modern take on Stephen King’s classic. Music enthusiasts can look forward to a documentary about the Boss himself, Bruce Springsteen. Special attention is also devoted to Actor of the Month Timothée Chalamet, whose charisma can be revisited in the hit Dune: Part One and the biographical drama Marty Supreme. Coming soon to DKino are even bolder titles, including Bugonia by Yorgos Lanthimos, the musical Wicked: For Good, the sci-fi thriller Predator: Badlands and the horror sequel Five Nights at Freddy’s 2. For fans of cult classics, the Cinemax channel offers titles such as Natural Born Killers and Sex, Lies, and Videotapes, while in February the video library also features a collection of films perfect for warming hearts on Valentine’s Day. Sports fans will also be well catered for in February, as the NEO platform provides access to the Winter Olympic Games wherever you are – on television, mobile phone, computer or tablet. For the ultimate fan experience, a dedicated theme page allows users to follow all the action and support Slovenian athletes. On the NEO Smartbox, the fastest way to access it is via voice commands: “Winter Olympic Games”, “Olympic Games”, “Olympics” or simply “Olympic”.

Telekom Slovenije and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering showcase 5G at 26 GHz for the first time, achieving a record 2 Gbps uplink speed
Telekom Slovenije and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Ljubljana carried out the first demonstration of 5G technology in the 26 GHz frequency band in Slovenia, achieving an exceptional milestone – a record uplink data transfer speed of 2 Gbps. The use of millimetre waves opens a new chapter in connectivity, crucial for applications requiring the rapid transmission of large data volumes and real-time responsiveness. This new technology supports professional video production with 4K/8K wireless transmission, advanced industrial environments with robotic control, and uninterrupted network performance at large-scale events. The 26 GHz frequency band delivers exceptional capacity over shorter distances, making it ideal for private mobile networks in industry and in locations with a very high concentration of people and devices in a limited area.
Core network modernisation, 99% 5G coverage and leading fixed internet position Telekom Slovenije at the European technological forefront
With the completion of a comprehensive modernisation of the core part of its mobile network, Telekom Slovenije ranks among Europe’s leading telecommunications providers. The transition to an advanced 5G Standalone architecture paves the way for future innovation, as in addition to higher speeds it also supports the introduction of network slicing for industrial needs. The implementation of VoNR technology is also significant, as it provides voice services directly over 5G without the need for switching to 4G. This demanding technological upgrade was carried out seamlessly for end users and coincides with a remarkable expansion of network availability. Telekom Slovenije already has 99% population coverage with its 5G signal, while its fibre optics network now reaches more than half a million households, further strengthening its position as the most advanced communications backbone in the country. An increasing number of users also benefit from wireless internet access and NEO services via FWA technology, through which Telekom Slovenije delivers advanced solutions even in areas where fibre optics infrastructure is not yet available.
