Črtomir encourages responsible cheering at the Tour of Slovenia along the blue line

5. 6. 2025

Telekom Slovenije continues to champion its #CheerIntelligently initiative, which promotes safe and responsible cheering at one of the country’s most important sporting events – the Tour of Slovenia. With a symbolic blue line that clearly marks the area for fans along the route and the mime artist Črtomir, the organisers and their supporters are once again highlighting the importance of respectful behaviour along the course and ensuring greater safety for cyclists.

Excessive proximity to cyclists, touching them, blocking their path, and obstructing them with banners have almost become standard at cycling races, which endangers the safety of the competitors, the race convoy, and the fans themselves. The blue line, which Telekom Slovenije introduced last year in collaboration with the organisers, clearly marks the area that fans are not allowed to cross. Its purpose is to prevent dangerous situations and to encourage cheering that is responsible, safe, and respectful.

This year, the initiative is expanding to four key points along the route. The blue line will be present at:
-    Stage 2 on the climb towards Celjska koča at the chapel,
-    Stage 3 in Jeruzalem, at Jeruzalem Castle,
-    Stage 4 on the climb to Golte, at the Radegunda 64 parking area, a few hundred metres from the stage finish, and
-    Stage 5 on Trška Gora, on the road to Marijino znamenje.

This year, the blue mime artist Črtomir is joining the initiative. He will wordlessly perform as the “invisible wall”, a symbol of the blue line at all four locations, drawing attention to the importance of respecting the space and the safety of cyclists.

»As one of the biggest supporters of sport in Slovenia, all of us at Telekom Slovenije are aware of the power of fan encouragement. That is why we launched the Cheer Intelligently initiative, with which we want to emphasise that it is precisely through intelligent cheering and encouragement that we can help our athletes achieve ever-better results. The blue line is not just a physical boundary, but a symbol of respect, both on the route and online. Let's not cross it – not with our actions in person, nor with our words in the digital space. Intelligent cheering starts with each and every one of us,« emphasised Boštjan Škufca Zaveršek, MSc, Vice President of the Management Board of Telekom Slovenije.

With its long-standing support for Slovenian sports, Telekom Slovenije once again demonstrates its commitment to promoting safety and a positive fan culture. You can also follow the initiative on Tour of Slovenia’s official website and on Telekom Slovenije’s website.
