BBC Player free of charge exclusively at Telekom Slovenije

16. 1. 2026

Telekom Slovenije is the first in Slovenia to offer the BBC Player service to its subscribers at no additional cost.

This is a multi-genre on-demand streaming service featuring top-tier series, documentaries, and entertainment content. BBC Player is available via the NEO platform, which delivers an advanced smart TV experience with voice control and access to live or on-demand content across all key devices – TV, smartphone, tablet, and computer. This further strengthens Telekom Slovenije’s offering and gives users access to premium content in the local language, tailored to a modern lifestyle – easy to use and always within reach.

BBC Player is already available free of charge to all NEO subscribers, and from April 30 it will become an integral part of the most popular NEO C subscription plan, preferred by the majority of NEO users. The service brings at least 900 hours of award-winning content, including highly rated and acclaimed series such as Happy Valley, Sherlock, This Is Going to Hurt, and the latest adaptation of Pride and Prejudice.

“By introducing the content offered by BBC Player and advanced advertising solutions, we are bringing even more entertainment to Slovenian users and new opportunities for advertisers to reach their desired target audiences. We are particularly pleased to be able to offer Slovenian users new films and series, documentaries, classic adaptations, popular children’s content, and iconic shows that generations have grown up with. All this and much more is now available in a modern format that fits today’s lifestyle – easily accessible and simple to use as part of our NEO offering. NEO combines a premium TV experience with innovative features that make it possible to watch shows and films anytime and anywhere. With an abundance of new, high-quality content, Slovenian users now have hours upon hours of great entertainment – always at hand, ready to watch on their favourite device,” said Luca Borzatta, Director of Product and Service Development at Telekom Slovenije.

“We are ecstatic to strengthen our partnership with Telekom Slovenije and expand access to BBC Studios services and premium content to new audiences. This collaboration not only brings the best of British storytelling and outstanding documentaries in the local language, but also an enhanced on-demand offering through BBC Player. For our advertising partners, this means new opportunities to connect with the trusted quality and global reputation of BBC Studios content, and create meaningful connections with engaged viewers across multiple platforms,” said Bartosz Witak, SVP and General Manager for CEE, MENA, and Turkey at BBC Studios.

Later this year, Telekom Slovenije, in cooperation with the BBC, will also launch a new advertising service on BBC channels (Ad Sales). It will be based on advanced targeting and data-driven campaigns, and developed in collaboration with Telekom Slovenije’s subsidiary TSmedia. The new service will provide advertisers with the option to connect more effectively with audiences in a premium environment, in line with integrated advertising trends.
