Telekom Slovenije receives the 2023 Most Secure Company Award

Ensuring security and business continuity is a strategic priority for Telekom Slovenije. In order to achieve this, the company make certain that its network, services, and users are secure, and provides cyber and information protection for various organizations, companies, and events. The Cybersecurity and Resilience Centre of Telekom Slovenije is among the most advanced SOCs in the region.

“Telekom Slovenije is the biggest telecommunications operator with major critical infrastructure, and a provider of essential services in the Republic of Slovenia. It establishes effective security architecture frameworks through a systemic approach. It has achieved this by establishing an integrated corporate security system based on expertise and comprehensiveness, the integration of physical and information security, security standards, a high level of organizational and security culture, corporate ethics, and, essentially, an enviably high commitment of its employees. Recently, special efforts have been dedicated to enhancing the security and reliability of IT systems, the system for protecting key data and innovations, and employee security awareness. During this period significant efforts have also been directed towards the cybersecurity," the organizers noted in the award justification.

Vesna Prodnik, the Management Board member of Telekom Slovenije responsible for technology, highlighted upon accepting the award that it goes to the best and most dedicated team. She added that "there is no such thing as total security. The key is to be aware of the risks and manage them appropriately. At Telekom Slovenije, we are always upgrading and further developing our activities related to providing comprehensive security. We are a part of critical infrastructure and a system operator that presents a fundamental link without which it would be impossible to even imagine telecommunications in the country. Our network is utilised by businesses and organizations with high-security requirements and approximately one million residential users. In both information and cybersecurity, we are closely involved in the domestic environment and are keeping up with international trends. We constantly ensure a high level of security processes, which we continually evaluate, improve, and adapt to the broader environment and the emergence of various security risks. This is a very complex operational function that we manage strategically, systematically, and responsibly."

Employees and the processes in the Cybersecurity and Resilience Centre are certified and compliant with the most prominent certificates and standards in information security, including ISO 22301, ISO 27001 and ISO 27018. The latter is a standard for personal data protection in the cloud.

Telekom Slovenije was the first corporation in Slovenia to receive the ISO 22301 international certificate. This is an international standard that demonstrates the company's reliable operation of services and processes and fast and efficient response in the event of an extraordinary incident. With its Business Continuity Management System, Telekom Slovenije is capable of ensuring key services and processes even in emergency situations.

Telekom Slovenije is also certified in accordance with the ISO 27001 international standard, which is the standard for a high-quality and secure information security management system. This certification has been further extended to cover the areas of cybersecurity and network and service monitoring. This helps them further solidify their position of a responsible and advanced operator, committed to the highest quality standards also with regard to the security of its services and infrastructure. The ISO 27001 certificate is only awarded to companies that meet the highest information security requirements.
