Just in time for the Olympic Games, Telekom Slovenije has prepared a campaign addressing offensive comments and encouraging everyone to #CheerIntelligently. The most important part of the campaign is the motivational song created specifically to convey messages of intelligent cheering all the way to Paris.
The purpose of this song is to deliver a message of support to our Olympians. The goal is for the song to spread among all Slovenians, to encourage our Olympians, and to cheer intelligently.
Unfortunately, athletes are often targets of undermining, insults, various remarks, negative comments, and even hate speech, especially in the digital world, regardless of their performance results. Negative comments and insults written in the digital world (whether on social networks or in online comments) can hurt athletes just as much as any defeat, and affect their motivation.
As part of Telekom Slovenije's #CheerIntelligently initiative, Janja Garnbret, Tine Urnaut, and Anita Horvat are decisively transforming hateful comments directed at them into encouraging messages. This is accompanied by the motivational song performed by Katja Sever Kržič, with lyrics by Jure Tovrljan and music by Jernej Kržič.

This makes it is aware of its social role in raising awareness and ensuring the safest and most responsible use of technologies. At the same time, Telekom Slovenije is among the traditional and biggest supporters of Slovenian sports and athletes. It is also a long-time sponsor of Slovenian Olympians, football players, volleyball players, handball players, cyclists, athletes, climbers, kayakers, skiers, and other athletes. This inspired it to spread the message to cheer intelligently also in the digital world. There will be more than enough opportunities to do so this summer.
